Elgin & Chantrell

The Height of Prestige in the Heart of the Peninsula

The Elgin / Chantrell sub area of South Surrey is characterized by sizeable homes and lots in planned subdivisions.  The lots range from half acre gross density to multiple acre properties.  Most of the dwellings in Elgin Chantrell are single-family detached homes, although, there are some strata-titled properties in the mix as well.  Surrounded by parks and located at the highest elevation on the peninsula this neighbourhood is ideal for families with choice schools close by.

This enclave of elegance offers its residents a myriad of educational institutions for all members of the family.  Chantrell Elementary is situated in the heart of the area while Crescent Park Elementary is very close by.  Ray Shephard Elementary and Semiahmoo Trail lie just over the South and Northeast boundaries respectively.   High school, Elgin Park Secondary is centrally located and within a walking distance from most homes in the area.

If private schools are more of a preference, they are well represented within a short distance of any Elgin Chantrell address.  Southridge Private School and White Rock Christian Academy offer education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.  In addition, for the youngest students the prestigious Core Education & Fine Arts (CEFA) offers a Baby Program and Junior Kindergarten options.

The borders of Elgin Chantrell are in a way defined by the parks in the area. Crescent Park, one of the largest parks on the peninsula offers a variety of walking trails through forests, by ponds and across streams. The park also has a bridle path on its perimeter and its wildlife, open fields, covered picnic shelters and forested trails make it a relaxing destination and a place of discovery.  There are many other facilities to fit your family needs in the area, including South Surrey Athletic Park, South Surrey Arena (Home to the Surrey Eagles Hockey team) and South Surrey Youth Centre, which offer all programs for the entire family.
