White Rock - By The Sea
Known for its Spectacular Scenery and Endless Beaches
White Rock is located in the most southern area of the Lower Mainland, 45 kilometres from Vancouver and only 5 minutes to the Canada and United States border. It’s known as a seaside community clustered around an 8 kilometre sandy beach in the warm shallow waters of Semiahmoo Bay. Homes in White Rock district range from acre bluff properties to single-family homes on small lots and condos in the growing city centre. Many view homes line the streets of White Rock where owners enjoy sunrises and sets from the comfort of their balconies.
As one would expect from one of the most established neighbourhoods on the Peninsula, the school possibilities for all ages is plentiful. For the little ones in the family, there are the following easily accessible elementary school offerings: White Rock Elementary, H.T. Thrift Elementary, Peace Arch Elementary and Ray Shepherd. For the teenagers in the family, Semiahmoo Secondary School just North of White Rock and Earl Marriott Secondary, for high school French Immersion is within the catchment area.
If private schools are more of a consideration, they are well represented within a short drive. Southridge and White Rock Christian Academy offers education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. In addition, for the youngest students the prestigious CEFA offers a Baby Program and Junior Kindergarten options.
The waterfront includes a promenade that is two and a half kilometres long; fully accessible to the disabled and parents with strollers. The heritage pier, train station, large beached “white rock” and colourful sidewalk cafes create a special ambiance throughout the area. White Rock is home to many art studios showcasing the beautiful natural surroundings. Looking for live theatre, The White Rock Players’ Club produces five shows a year, including comedies, thrillers and dramas, and the popular Christmas Pantomime, a local tradition since 1954.
